    Brief synopsis

Making Noise Quietly is a theme led film in three sections, each one a chance encounter between two strangers affected by war. The film is based from the play of the same name written by Robert Holman.
The first section "Being Friends" is between two young men: a conscientious objector and an artist in the last days of WWII in Kent – they share a picnic together in the late summer sun.
The second section "Lost" is between an naval officer who has come to Redcar to tell his best friend’s mother that her son has died in the Falklands war – both are conflicted about the war and their relationship to the deceased.
The third section "Making Noise Quietly" is between a British soldier stationed in Germany after the first Gulf war and a holocaust survivor he meets after going AWOL with his autistic adopted son in the Black Forest.
