    Brief synopsis

An elderly man reads the diary of a young Jewish woman written during the German Occupation 60 years earlier... Sarah Rosemblum was then 25 years old, young, beautiful, in love... He was called Hans, an SS officer repelled by Nazi ideology and who detested his uniform and used his position to provide Jews with false identity papers.

With her new name of Louise Berger, Sarah lives under the protection of Huguette, a generous cabaret singer who hides Jews and helps them get across to England. In her house, sheltered from the rest of the world, this improbable couple can give free rein to their love. Unbeknownst to them, their affair awakens jealousy in another of the house's inhabitants: Robert, 16-years-old, is madly in love with Louise. Passions enflame under the watchful eye of Margot, Huguette's mother, who has not spoken a word ever since her son's death. But war catches up with lovers... It would be best if they fled, but suddenly it is too late for that.

Who is this elderly man lost in Sarah's story?
