Joana Mallwitz already occupies an exceptional position among the young shooting stars of the conducting scene. At 27, she was Europe's youngest general music director, in 2019 the trade journal "Opernwelt" named her "Conductor of the Year," her Salzburg debut in 2020 at the Festival with Mozart's "Così fan tutte" was acclaimed, and now she will even become chief conductor of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin starting in the 2023/24 season. Even before taking up the new position, there was a foretaste of this exciting constellation in March 2021.
