About Irena Gruca-Rozbicka
For over 23 years, I have been working in the audiovisual industry as a television professional, film journalist, and Crew-United database editor.
In 2010, I co-founded an independent publishing house and the FilmPRO Foundation, dedicated to film education. I served as the editor-in-chief of "FilmPRO" magazine and organize workshops and seminars on legal aspects, technologies, and financing of film production.
I have collaborated with various international institutions, including the American Society of Cinematographers and IMAGO. I have supported educational initiatives such as New Horizons of Film Education and the EFA Young Audience Award.
I was also a member of the Polish section of SMPTE and for a period of 5 years on the board of SMPTE Poland.
Throughout my career, I have remained closely involved in filmmaking, producing TV programs, film reports, and working as a production coordinator on commercial sets. I have also contributed to documentary films as a researcher and translator.
I wrote a screenplay for the children's film "Invisibles," developed under the FilmsForKids Pro program.
What fascinates me about filmmaking is the combination of the three factors necessary for its existence: art, technology and the synergy of human energy.
All three compel me to constantly develop and improve. This is the never-ending story of my life :-)
