Maria is a Greek police officer, a single mother and an only child. She struggles among financial troubles, her teen daughter, her old mother and the national crisis. Her police station is closing down in Athens so she has to accept a position in Lesbos island, in the middle of Aegean. Yussof, a young man from Syria who’s fleeing the war to no longer be forced to kill, arrives in Lesbos in a refugee camp and is willing to start a new life in Europe. His path leads him to Athens where Maria is going back looking for her daughter who has disappeared.
