A mystical breath surrounds the tradition of the midsummer fire, people have been celebrating this longest day of the year for centuries. The celebrations around the Danube in the Wachau are unique: ships on the water, fire spectacles on land, fireworks in the air. In the Gastein Valley, bonfires are lit at "Mountains in Flames" festival. Dr. Michael Greger from the Salzburg Folklore Institute explains the background and mysticism to the tradition.
