Sölden, Obergurgl, Hochgurgl. Resounding names in Ötztal and top destinations in winter. Yes, there's something going on. The polar bear is on the move. That's where the money is. International ski circus at its finest! And in Gries? Yes, where is that anyway? A winding panoramic road branches off from Ötztal into Sulztal. At the end of the valley, at just under 1,600 meters above sea level - a small mountain village with just under 200 inhabitants and breathtaking views of the Ötztal and Stubai Alps. Gries is beautiful, unless you want to party. Because it's quiet in Gries. And it's getting quieter all the time. In other words: If you're looking for peace and relaxation in snow-sure nature, this is the place to be. But in the name of climate change, the "energy crisis" and the like, the idyllic mountain village may soon experience a rude awakening from its slumber.
