The youth welfare organization Friedrich-Wilhelm-Stift and the city of Hamm have enabled the implementation of the so-called pool model for school inclusion at 3 different elementary schools over 3 years. The documentary film shows the new everyday life of pupils and school companions in the context of the pool solution.
In the pool model, the currently common 1 to 1 support is abandoned in favor of a team solution in the area of school support. At each school, a team of 5 to 9 integration staff is responsible for all children at the school, especially those with participation restrictions. According to their needs, without a clear assignment to a child and in close cooperation with the teachers, the children are supported in a flexible way. Parents do not have to apply for inclusion support and no individual claims are assessed. The integration staff is firmly anchored in the structure of the school, knows the system and is thus recognized as cooperation partner.
The Stiftung Wohlfahrtspflege supports the project and enables scientific monitoring.
