Madina Azizi is a young football coach and former player in Afghanistan’s national team. She lives in one of the most dangerous cities of the world and has to contend daily with the hardened roles of a very traditional and patriarchal society. Girls’ football is still a taboo for many Afghan families with corruption seeping into its federation. Madina Azizi and other women fight these obstacles every day – against great resistance. We follow Madina Azizi and her team in their dangerous everyday lives as female football players in Kabul. And we showcase the fight of an entire generation of young women for just a little more independence in traditional-patriarchal Afghanistan and corruption.
