The documentary is a modern, adventurous journey telling of Ludwig van Beethoven's timelessness and why he is one of the most popular and famous composers in the world in the 21st century. We meet conductors, dancers, musicians on almost every continent to ask them about their very personal relationship with Ludwig van Beethoven. What influence does
he have on those artists of different generations and genres? Which symphony or sonata is the favorite of each of the artists ? To what extent were Beethoven’s compositions forwardlooking and still are?
In terms of cinematography, the documentary focuses on a high degree of aesthetics and wishes to capture the artists inspired by Beethoven doing what they love with passion and emotions. Furthermore, the cities and regions featured in the film - and therefore the protagonists‘ living spaces - are supposed to come to life and to be celebrated (e.g. by aerial cinematography).
