Brief synopsis

The Bundeskunsthalle commissioned Vertigo Film GmbH to create an animated film about Max Klinger's monumental sculpture of Beethoven for a digital educational offer for visitors to the Bundeskunsthalle. After 15 years, the monument will be moved again for the first time and sent on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig to the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn. During this process, the monument will have to be dismantled in accordance with shipping regulations. This offers a unique opportunity to experience the monument in its individual parts.
Klinger's masterpiece will be digitally recorded, and visitors will be given an insight into the history of its creation, the materials used, its construction and further information on Max Klinger and his working methods in the form of an 8-minute film.
