The Audi Foundation for the Environment has scored a very special coup with its e-rickshaw. Not only because the project was the independent work of Audi's apprentices, but also because it was set up in cooperation with the Indian start-up Nunam, which is committed to very significant projects.
The start-up is committed to both sustainability and the empowerment of women in India. In this way, it helps women to take up more space on the labor market and thus become more present and independent.
The e-rickshaw will also be used to transport patients in India, thus making a contribution not only to society but also to the environment thanks to its electric drive.
The batteries used for the rickshaws themselves are so-called Second Life batteries, i.e. those that were already installed in Audi's e-Tron and have now found a second life through a completely new application.
We were keen to support all these projects. It was therefore a special pleasure for our team to talk to the interview partners in Germany and to record their conviction and motivation for the project on film. These were complemented by impressive footage taken directly from India, capturing the development of the project on the ground.
