In rural Nicaragua, a grassroots of maternity houses has massively helped reduce the mortality rate. Without these Casas Maternas, the only choice for women with pregnancy complications is to take their chances with the closest midwife.
This film is a tribute to the traditional and important work of Nicaraguan midwives and Casas Maternas to save Mothers at Risk.
