The 3, 000 Kogi living in seclusion in the Colombian Andes are wardens of an ancient culture that has been virtually untouched by Western influences. This is the story of Javier, a Kogi who embarks on a pilgrimage to the holiest site of his ancestors, revering the “Mamas“ or wise men and spiritual leaders. His pilgrimage takes him in a boat carved from a tree trunk to the sea -- the “Great Mother“ and creator of the world.
