Permanent Creases

For the past 50 years Martha has she been attending to all of her
husband’s personal needs; cooked three meals daily, cleaned the
house, washed and ironed his clothes along with raising their
four children. Never once has she felt appreciated by her
husband. Secretly, she feels resentment towards him for getting
her pregnant early on forcing her put her career on a permanent
hold. The only reason Martha tolerates her husband; this is the
life she knows – it’s become her routine. She carries sorrow and
feels responsible for the accidental drowning of their third
child which took place over forty years ago – and her husband
won’t let her forget. She loves getting lost reading a good book,
sneak chocolate candy bars and a glass of sherry when no one is
watching.
