In a neighborhood where crime is the best chance to have a “normal” life, Federico longs to become a criminal like his brother. Alessandro D'Alatri, winner of two David di Donatello awards, directed the first web-series shot in the Beccaria juvenile prison, using the young prisoners in the show: not professional actors but more than capable of performing the roles that are sadly similar to their own.
The series was shot with green screen technique: the environments were digitally recreated in order to create a comic book atmosphere inspired by the classics of noir graphic novels, but also by the hallucinatory science fiction of “Blade Runner” and “A Scanner Darkly”.
Marco Palvetti, known for the tv series Gomorra, and Mino Manni, have also participated in the project. (https://www.brandonbox.com/en/works/la-scuola-della-notte/#work)
