Every year the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra commemorate their founding in 1883 with the European Concert at a venue of cultural importance in a different European city. In 2012, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor, Gustavo Dudamel, welcomes one of the world's leading young cellists, Gautier Capuçon.

The 22nd European Concert takes place at the magnificent building of the Spanische Hofreitschule in Vienna. The Spanish Riding School, a significant part of Austria’s cultural heritage, is not only the oldest riding academy in the world, it is also the only one where the high school of classical horsemanship has been cherished and maintained for over 430 years.
