Die letzten Venezianer

Venice reveals that in today's cities, the world is withdrawn from its inhabitants. The question i ask myself is what meaning does Venice have for Venetians? I belive that their own earth is a reality which has nothing to do with a feeling of nationality, it is a relity of a different order, unpolitical, inactive. In the hearts of venetians we find an admiration for their homeland, but moreover, the marvelous conviction that Venice embodies its own world,...they live a dream about themselfs that is unparalleled.
