    Kurzinhalt

“Someone must have traduced Joseph K., for without having done anything wrong he was arrested one fine morning.”

That’s how Kafka’s The Trial begins, and so could The Strange Case of Mr. K as well, if it weren’t for a “famous” suicide at the beginning that mixed up the cards and the pages of the writer…
Present-day Milan: Giuseppe K. is arrested shortly after being promoted to a managing position at a well-established bank. However, due to dubious accusations, he is released and allowed to return to his new position.
Time goes by and Giuseppe is convinced that everything will turn out alright, but still, he turns to his father-in-law for advice, who happens to have high political and financial connections. He advises him to seek legal consultation with a lawyer friend, an expert in long, drawn-out trials. But when he goes to the lawyer’s office, he meets Lena the assistant, who has great and almost pathological powers of persuasion.
