Der glücklichste Tag im Leben des Olli Mäki

Finland, 1962. Boxer Olli Mäki is 26 years old and in love. He comes from a humble background – his manager Elis Ask however wants to turn him into a glamorous boxing star. Olli is expected to be the first Finnish boxer to defeat the US-American world champion.
While the fight preparations go on, Olli would rather be with his girlfriend Raija. His life with her in the countryside proves incompatible with the boxing scene in Helsinki. The pressure is enormous when Elis links his own existence with his young talent’s success. The fight is supposed to become a media spectacle – a novelty in 1960’s Finland.
But for Olli there is only one thing truly important: the certainty that Raija has his back.
