DELTA tells the story of an imaginary world in the near future, a closed territory set up as a quarantine for people infected by an unknown virus. It is a border-zone where at times a ship arrives loaded with new contaminated men and women from the healthy part of the planet. It is forbidden to cross between the two areas. However, a group of local fisherman tries to smuggle people over the border, some for money, others for priceless ideas. Michail, a research worker, commissioned by the World Health Organization, arrives in order to bring new scientific methods to investigate the disease. He was born here but grew up in the “normal” world and has never been back before. Meeting his estranged family, he learns that his father has just been killed, his mother lives with the supposed perpetrator, and his gorgeous and bewildering sister, Fauna, belongs to the rescuers who truly want to save quarantine-people’s life. He becomes fascinated by her courage and force. Passion and love attract them to each other…He will side with his sister but discovering the hopelessness of his scientific investigation decides to leave with her. She refuses and he leaves alone, taking a mortal souvenir with him.
