This is the record of a gathering where being together and creating with the bodies was a constant. Tanzkongress 2019, curated by Meg Stuart and her team, unfolded under the premise of creating A Long-Lasting Affair.
But, what meanings are triggered from our current perspective after we have experienced the emergence of the covid-19? What do the social, political, psychological, technological bodies, and bodies of movement state today? Congresses as a meeting place for people with diverse origins have been put into crisis. How can we discuss, break, reinvent ourselves together, and defend the need to be bodily present?
In "A Dream Together" Abraham Hurtado portrays how bodies "touch" what words cannot achieve. The documentary is a visual journey through the actions and thoughts of the five days spent at Hellerau - Europäisches Zentrum der Künste (Dresden) where Tanzkongress took place.
